PathwayOregon is more than a scholarship program. It’s a promise—a commitment of financial and academic support, and a chance for a brighter future.
It’s also another example of the UO paving the way. Recently lauded by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan as a national leader because of PathwayOregon, the University of Oregon has set the gold standard with this innovative program.
Since 2008, we have given more than 3,000 deserving Oregonians the PathwayOregon promise. More than 60 percent are first-generation college students.
Their incredible success has defied the odds—and national statistics. PathwayOregon students have demonstrated freshmen retention rates that meet or exceed the average of students who are not lower income.
Some years, this rate has reached nearly 90 percent. Our graduating classes set records for earning their degrees on time.
How do we do it? It takes resources, commitment and teamwork. In addition to funding, we provide comprehensive support to help students stay on track to achieve their academic goals.
