Who's eligible for PathwayOregon?

Eligibility for the PathwayOregon Program hinges on a student being:

  • an Oregon Resident
  • a Federal Pell Grant recipient who meets income criteria established by UO
  • admitted to the UO for fall term 2010 as a first-time freshmen, with admissions and FAFSA applications submitted on time — see details below.

How can I be considered for the Program?

As an Oregon resident, you will automatically be considered for PathwayOregon if you complete these two steps:

  1. submit a completed UO admissions application by January 15
  2. file the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid by March 1 (application available Jan. 1, 2010). Be sure to include the UO code 003223 as one of your college choices.

Is that all I need to do?

Officially, yes. But you'll also want to consider some other important items.

Don't wait to secure your housing.

Once you have applied to the UO, you should complete and submit an on-line Residence Hall Application. Don't wait until you have received your acceptance letter: the sooner you apply, the better your chances of getting a room on campus.

PathwayOregon Housing Award

The PathwayOregon Housing Award, which covers the cost of housing (equivalent to a double room in a residence hall) and dining (campus standard meal plan) is, offered to PathwayOregon students who have the greatest financial need and the strongest academic record. To be considered for the PathwayOregon Housing Award, a PathwayOregon student must

The PathwayOregon Housing Award is renewed annually for a maximum of twelve academic terms as long as the student maintains a 3.25 cumulative G.P.A. (assessed at the end of each academic year) and fulfills the PathwayOregon program requirements.

Consider applying for UO scholarships.

Although PathwayOregon covers only tuition and fees, UO also awards scholarships to help qualifying students cover additional expenses, such as housing, food, books, and other living expenses. Find out more about these funding opportunities by visiting these sites:

The more you learn about us, the more confident you'll be in your decision to attend the University of Oregon. So we hope you'll visit us.
